The display goes edge to edge with impressive contrast as well as the large size protected by Corning Gorilla Glass coupled with the trending Notch display which is one of the selling points of the device.
It also sports a glass build which is the trending body built of most high-end flagship this year with nice ergonomics delivering that premium feel to the holder. Xiaomi MI 8 measures dimension of 154.9 x 74.8 x 7.6mm, and sports a display colour up to 16 million which gives the device a colorful and bright display.

The key upgrade with the Mi 8 is the camera, with the phone now featuring a dual camera setup at the back which sees two 12MP sensors positioned vertically. The primary 12MP sensor has a f/1.8 lens and 1.4-micron pixels, and the secondary telephoto 12MP camera comes with a f/2.4 lens and 1.0-micron pixels. The larger pixels and improved software processing algorithms lead to much better photos, and the Mi 8 particularly shines when it comes to low-light shots. The interface is largely unchanged from previous years, but there’s a new AI feature that automatically sets up the ideal shooting mode for a particular shot. The AI-assisted feature is similar to what we’ve seen from the likes of Huawei, and it works by gauging the lighting conditions and the subject to offer the optimal shooting mode, recording at 60fps alongside portrait mode. It works seamlessly, and you see a tangible difference with the feature, once again in low-light conditions.
The 20MP Front camera can also stand for as a face unlocks with the infra-red scanner which allows for quick ID capturing.
