The Mate 20 X is powered by exactly the same internals as its four-figured sibling, the Mate 20 Pro. Inside, you’ll find Huawei’s own 7nm Kirin 980 CPU, which is clocked at 2.6GHz and works in tandem with 6GB of RAM. The design combines exclusivity and performance. Despite the big screen, there are little bezels around it and it does have a rather slim metallic frame. Likewise, the smartphone has a similar 2×2 camera grid at the back with the fingerprint scanner below it. The glass build is curved at the side and has a similar texture as the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. It has the notch tagged dewdrop by Huawei and just a bit of bezel at the chin while there is more or less no side bezels.
This gaming phone comes light for its size at 232 g, slim at 8.2 mm thick, and while the screen’s 7.2-inch spec sounds large, this inch count is boosted by the use of a notched, ultra-long 18.7:9 ratio display. The 87.6% screen-to-body ratio adds to the look of the device giving it a more appealing look than its other variant.

Huawei is clearly targeting picture lovers with the camera. It features the new Leica Triple Camera. The camera exterior has been completely revamped as well, it’s now a square centered at the back of the Mate.
The Mate 20 X primary camera is equipped with a Leica camera comprises of a 40MP RGB sensor, a 20MP ultra wide-angle lens and an 8MP sensor with a telephoto lens.
It’s got an f/1.8 wide aperture lens, the dimmer f/2.2 ultrawide , and f/2.4 telephoto and an equivalent focal length of 27mm. Focusing is done through phase detection, and there’s adual-LED dual-tone flash, for extremely low-light shooting.
Situated on the front camera is a 24MP selfie camera. It’s got a slightly narrower aperture (f/2.0), buts a slightly wider focal length (26mm).
The front camera can take bokeh mode selfies. Of course, the cameras are powered by AI scene detection, Qmoji, which is the company’s selfie AR camera mode, and answer to Apple’s AR emoji. It also features a 3D lighting effect for after the shot advanced selfie editing.

The Mate 20 X is the powered by the chipset Kirin 980, which is fabricated with leading 7nm process technology – high performance and energy efficiency in its perfection chipset. The Huawei Mate 20 X comes with the company’s own EMUI 9.0 ROM. Huawei’s EMUI offers plenty of customization and features like (not so secure) face unlock, smart rotation, and lift to wake. The face unlock has been enhanced with machine learning and will learn to recognize your face even with changes such as facial hair or sunglasses.
It runs on Android OS version 9.0 Pie which is the latest, fastest and a user-friendly Android version which helps sustain the battery capacity of the device as well as the operation and it also includes practical features such as an integrated Avast virus scanner. Pie features v Picture-in-Picture mode, app shortcuts, smart text selection and notification dots – oddly called badge app icons – are on board. Others are absent, like the adaptive icons and the swipe-up app drawer on the Pixel. The default setting is still an app drawer-less home screen layout, but you can change that in settings. The Mate 20 X is one of the few flagship device to first use this new android Os, making the device of of a kind.
