LG G7 ThinQ is LG’s new flagship phone for 2018. The G7 is both a sequel to the G6 and a minor revision of the V30. The LG V40 ThinQ looks like the V35 at first glance with just few changes to the body which includes an additional camera lens on the back, and notch in the display. This device features an edge-to-edge display which curves gracefully into the phone’s body, and there’s an extremely slim bottom bezel. It’s packing water-resistance too, with an IP68-rating , enough to prevent dust and water damage (it supposed to survive at least up to 1.5m under water for 30 minutes).
The back of the LG V40 is made out of glass, and while just about every Android flagship has this same construction, LG’s done something unique to make the V40 stand out.
Except for the Aurora black color, every other finish of the V40 features a soft, grippy finish that’s “amazing to hold.” This frosted glass finish is easier to grip, collects fewer fingerprints and offers a neat color-shifting look.

This LG 2018 Flagship device features a massive notched 6.4-inch QuadHD+ OLED panel, running a 3,120 x 1,440 resolution in a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a pixels-per-inch measurement of 537. ThinQ would be extra bright, this is as a result of the increase in the nits to 1000, which is more than you will need in most situations outside of bright sunshine. Though this might not be useful at night, however, for people who spend a lot of time in the sun, it may be a blessing.
The V40 features a notch, but LG calls it a second screen and claims this is an enhanced version of the second screen from the V10 and V20. But no matter the name, the notch simply means a means of splitting the top of the screen. It fits the usual notification icons, status items, the clock and network bars.

LG V40 ThinQ camera is the major upgrade in the newly released device. Mobile photography has never been more impressive. LG is the first major player to put a total of five cameras on a smartphone refers to as ‘Penta Camera.’ V40 ThinQ is the first telephoto camera on an LG smartphone.
The back of the LG V40 ThinQ is graced with three camera lenses, arranged horizontally in the center line of the phone. The main lens is a 12-megapixel lens equivalent in 35mm with an f/1.5 aperture, optical image stabilization, and Dual Phase Detection Autofocus. The second lens is a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 107-degree field of view and an f/1.9 aperture. The final lens is another 12-megapixel lens, but with a smaller f/2.4 aperture and a 2x optical zoom.
On the front, the handset gets an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/1.9 aperture and it’s joined by a secondary 5MP f/2.2 one. These two differ in coverage too, with the main having an 80-degree FOV vs. 90 degrees for the 5MP one. Aside from the obvious benefit of fitting more stuff into the frame (be it people or scenery), the extra cam also enables a portrait mode for selfies.
The V40 ThinQ can record video up to 4K with all of its three cameras. The video resolution is 1920 x 1080. Only the regular one is optically stabilized.
There are also some fun new features available in the LG V40 ThinQ. The most notably is the Cine Shot mode.
Cine Shot is a new mode in the LG V40’s camera app that lets you take photographs with some motion in them, otherwise known as cinemagraphs. This type of medium has been around for quite some time, and LG is hardly the first manufacturer to add it to a phone. You can take Cine Shots with all three cameras on the back. The camera takes about three seconds of video, stabilizes it, and then you save.Cine shot is a short MP4 file, so you can share it on any social media platform.
