Samsung announced the Galaxy Home smart speaker powered by its Bixby digital assistant a year ago called the Galaxy Home but failed to ship it.

Samsung Galaxy Home Mini smart speaker design actually looks pretty nice. It does follow the Google Home and Amazon Echo Dot aesthetic quite a bit. Soft-touch fabric seems to dominate the bulbous little speaker. The speaker is a smaller version of the Samsung Galaxy Home, which promises smart connectivity through the Bixby voice assistant, and sound tuned by AKG along with better sound quality than competing options. It’s worth pointing out that the larger speaker doesn’t seem to have any beta program active.

The beta programme application is now open from August 28 up till September 1. It is open to 3,000 participants, and anyone who is currently a Samsung smartphone user living in South Korea can apply. if selected, will receive a Galaxy Home Mini for testing ahead of its market release.

The Mini Smart speaker ships AKG in-ear headphones with its high-end Galaxy phones. As well as, the four controls which look very much like those you’d find on Amazon’s Echo speaker. The Home Mini will use Bluetooth 4.2 to connect o other devices and will be powered via micro-USB. It will also have infrared and be able to connect to Samsung’s SmartThings smart home network, though it remains to be seen exactly how capable the product will be at acting as a smart hub.

There is also a rumour that the smaller Bixby speaker will have integration with Samsung’s Smart Things home automation platform, allowing users to control other smart gadgets with their voice.

It still remains unknown when Samsung might release its two smart speakers and how much they’ll cost. However, with this new step towards the introduction of the beta programme shows the launch of the two smart speaker is very near.

Samsung Galaxy A8S’s Launched with Infinity-O screen.

0

Yesterday, December 10, Samsung announced the world’s first smartphone with camera hole in the display, the Galaxy A8s.  Though Huawei and its sub-brand Honor have the same design in mind  but has been beat to the second place by this captivating device.

The Hole on sreen is not the only first about this device, it is the first Samsung A series to feature an  LCD screen. There is more to this device than the display, however, it is one of the selling point of the device.  it incorporates a camera hole that’s 6.7mm wide for the selfie shooter in the upper left corner and it stretches to 6.4 inches” in diagonal. The device resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels with a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The bezels around the panel are pretty slim, including the chin with a regular old LCD IPS screen which has not yet been confirmed since it as not mentioned.

On the back we find a triple-camera setup that consists of a 24MP main sensor with a large f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 10MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 opening. The third one is used only for depth sensing and it’s 5MP with f/2.2 aperture. As for the front-facing camera, it’s 24MP with f/2.0 aperture. The fingerprint reader is right there as well.

The phone carries a 3,400 mAh battery with adaptive fast charging support over USB-C and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and powered by a Snapdragon 710 chip, Samsung’s UI on top coupled with 6 or 8GB of RAM, and Storage upto 128GB but with a microSD card, can be expanded up to 512GB.

By axing the 3.5mm port, the A8s is one of Samsung’s first phones not equipped with a headphone jack, which has become a real point of contention after so many phone makers followed Apple’s lead when it ditched the long-lived feature on the iPhone 7.

Sony X900F Ultra HD LED Smart TV

0

The Sony X900F is a great 4k TV with impressive picture quality, especially in a dark room due to the high native contrast ratio and full array local dimming support. The TV excels at HDR as it can produce bright, vivid highlights. Motion handling is also excellent due to the fast response time and ability to flicker the back-light to clear up motion.

The  Sony X900F is quite different to the ‘traditional’ Sony aesthetics from the last few years, such as the X900E it comes featuring a great design. The wide-set legs are the most noticeable difference, and do require a larger table but are designed so that the Sony soundbar can fit between them. There is basic cable management similar to the X900E down the back of the stand, but it isn’t as good as the X930E which includes routing through the back panel. The build quality is very good and the TV feels solid.

Sony X900F Design

This 65″ TV with stand measuring 39.2″ x 10.6″ shows its much wider than most other Sony TVs, as it leaves space for a soundbar between the two legs. It supports the TV well and feels secure. It also provides a channel at the rear of the legs to route cables through, which is good. The TV comes with a thin boarder of  0.35″ (0.9 cm) which looks good. They look almost identical to other Sony TVs.

From behind the TV is quite basic, and is very similar to last year’s model. There are two groups of inputs on the rear of the TV. One is inset and directed down, and can be difficult to access if the TV is placed close to the wall. The second group is directed out the side of the TV and provides easier access.

When viewed from the side the TV has an average thickness measuring  2.76″ (7.0 cm) which will stick out from the wall a bit more than some other TVs, but this isn’t too much of an issue.

Although the TV is almost entirely plastic but what does not make it fragile as it does feel well constructed and solid with good quality.sony-x900f-tv-review

Sony X900F Display

The Sony X900F has a very good picture quality. When set in a dark room, the deep black it can produce help greatly with dark scene reproduction. This is mostly due to the impressive contrast ratio, good black uniformity, and decent local dimming feature. When set in a brighter room, the TV is also very good since it got a great SDR peak brightness and the screen finish is great at dealing with reflection and glare.

The 65-inch X900F measures 57 inches wide by a little over 35 inches tall and two and three-quarter inches deep (without its stand), which isn’t as thin as some displays nowadays, but it isn’t exactly obese, either. The display itself tips the scales at 54 pounds, which makes it substantial in its construction, but not ridiculous. At first glance, the X900F’s appearance isn’t going to make you do a double take. It’s not ugly. mind you, but rather just very restrained and classic in its appearance. Like a well-tailored suit or little black dress, the X900F is ready for any occasion. Around back things are even more spartan, as the X900F sports an almost seamless back panel with nary a sign of branding or government warning to infringe upon its appearance. There are tasteful cut-outs for the X900F’s I/O panel and power cord, but that really is it. So front-to-back, side-to-side, the X900F is an exercise in beauty through minimalism.

The TV comes with a HDR which looks great mostly due to the high HDR peak brightness, which when paired with the local dimming, can reproduce very bright specular highlights. The X900F’s panel itself has a native resolution of 3,840 by 2,160 pixels, also known as Ultra HD. The X900F features Sony’s own Triluminos technology (think Quantum Dots), HDR compatibility (HDR10, Hybrid Log-Gamma, and Dolby Vision), X-tended Dynamic Range PRO, and X-Motion Clarity, all powered by Sony’s latest Processor X1 Extreme.Image result for sony x900f series

The full array local dimming of the Sony X900F is decent and better than most LED TVs. It is a small upgrade when compared to the 2017 X900E. The X900F performance is more similar to the 2017 Sony X930E when set side by side, although the X930E has slightly less abrupt transitions of the zones on movements.

Sony X900F Performance

Very similar performance to the Samsung Q8FN. The X900F has deeper black levels, but there is more visible blooming. When set to ‘High’, the feature is very good at limiting blooming and keeping a good overall black level.

The X900F in its Custom mode measured a respectable 435 Nits. Out of the box, the accuracy of the Sony X900F is excellent, and for most people, this TV could be used right away without the need for any calibration. The most accurate picture mode out of the box is the ‘Custom’ picture mode, and it is also one of the picture modes that gives you the most control over all the picture setting available.

The ‘Cinema Pro’ is also very accurate, but this picture mode targets a gamma closer to 2.4, rather than our desired 2.2 target.

The X900F comes with Sony’s voice remote, which is starting to look a little dated compared to competing brands. While LG lets you wield its remotes like a Wii controller, and Samsung’s slim metallic remote features precious few buttons, Sony sticks with an old-school design and layout that provides more buttons than you probably need – save perhaps for that voice button for Google Assistant.Image result for sony x900f series

The X900F also offers four HDMI inputs, all of which support 4K HDR sources and HDCP 2.2, but Sony tells us you’ll want to use HDMI 2 and 3 for high-bandwidth sources like a 4K UHD Blu-ray player, 4K HDR-capable gaming console, or HTPC/gaming PC. Unlike some of its competition, the X900F will not automatically detect the need for enhanced bandwidth support, so you’ll want to turn on that feature manually (instructions below). The X900F doesn’t support variable refresh rate (VRR) either, but then again, that’s a feature found only on Samsung QLED TVs at this time, so we don’t knock it for that.

Under the hood is Sony’s X1 Extreme processor, which is the heart and soul of this TV. For the android Sony is still sticking with Android TV for its operating system and streaming platform.

“Drone” The future of Business Advancement

0

The use of drones can now be found across business as well as public and private sector industries.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology is progressing enormously thanks to its massive use in diverse fields. Drones seem made specifically for certain industries however, it comes useful in more area than we anticipated. One of the most common uses of a drone lately are;

Event Videos

The use of drones for video coverage during events is becoming common across the world. Event Planners around the country are buying drones and taking crash courses in how to pilot one because consumers are demanding videos that show every angle of their special day. Photos and video taken from 400 feet are undeniably spectacular if done right.

Inventory

If you have a warehouse full of products, then you’re likely using every available space and that means stacking boxes of products high up on shelves. Usually, you’d have to use ladders and several workers to take inventory of your product, which is time-consuming and potentially dangerous. With the aid of a drone, though, you can fly the unmanned aircraft to the top of the ceiling and down each aisle of your sprawling warehouse to scan each item and track everything without having to send anyone up a ladder or cherry picker.

Real Estate

Whether you’re in the business of selling homes or property, a drone can help you show potential buyers what they’re purchasing without having to travel to the home or land. You can easily collect aerial footage of the building or land, and the surrounding area, to give the buyers an idea of what they’ll be getting.

Media & News

What was once only possible for large corporations that could afford a helicopter and pilot is now accessible for anyone who provides news coverage. Whether you blog, write reviews or spot news, you can include dynamic video with the help of a drone that can capture all sorts of events – from sports to features to demonstrations.

Studying Environment

Research of animals and environments has become even easier with the help of unmanned aircraft. You can fly a drone in areas you wouldn’t normally be able to access and observe wildlife and more without disturbing any of the animals or the habitat. Waterproof drones exists, so scientists can even study the behavior of animals at sea. It’s a safer way to study.

Farming and agricultural research

Drone technology in farming and agriculture represents a huge opportunity for those with an entrepreneurial spirit. Drones can assist farmers in assessing crops and livestock, as well as marking boundaries and planning wide-scale fencing. They are also used effectively to establish irrigation systems, and in agricultural consultancy to assess and improve flora and fauna management.

Three main Types of Drones

Drones or UAVs are designed with capabilities to fly in air without a pilot. Their movements are mainly controlled by a remote unit in most of the cases whereas few highly advanced designs are operated from computers.

There are so many varieties of drones that you can easily find in world and all of them are working for different applications so we cannot define any set criteria for their classification. Depending upon the need or applications, they can have variable size and design.

Fixed Wing

A fixed wing drone consists of one rigid wing and is designed to look and work like an airplane. What helps distinguish fixed wing drones from other types is that they cannot stay in one place with vertical lift rotors, but instead glide on a set path as long as their energy permits. This means they can be far more efficient compared to the two other main categories of drones.

Fixed wing UAVs are well known in the military, as they are often used when manned flight is considered too risky or difficult. They are also used in the commercial industry.

Single Rotor

Single rotor drones are strong and look similar in structure and design to actual helicopters. They have one big rotor, which is like one big spinning wing, plus a small sized rotor on the tail for direction and stability.

Multirotor

This is the most popular type of drone for getting an “eye in the sky”. This is the popular choice for aerial photography, filmmaking and surveillance. It is used by professionals and hobbyists alike because of its small size and ready to fly out of the box capabilities.

Multi-rotor drones are also easiest to manufacturer and the cheapest drone option. They carry several rotors on their body and can be further classified based on the number of them on the platform of the drone. There are tricopters (3 rotors), quadcopters (4 rotors), hexacopters (6 rotors) and octocopters (8 rotors), among others. Quadcopters are by far the most popular multi-rotor drones.
