Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has captured headlines over the past year for its innovative devices, is upping the ante with its latest smartphone. The Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition is a stunning phone with two–yes two!–screens. The company has the ditched the motorized popups and instead has solved the notch issue in a different way – with a full-fledged AMOLED screen at the back.

Though, Vivo isn’t the first one to try the second screen thing, but it might just be the first one to make this work. Because the second Super AMOLED is not just a camera viewfinder, it can be your main screen, too. Or you can use it as a touch panel for gaming, just like on PlayStation Vita and thus remove your on-screen sticks. Or send your WeChat codes there for easier scanning. Among many other things.

At first glance, the front of the Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition looks nearly identical to its predecessor. The front of the phone is dedicated entirely to the bezel-less display. Flip the phone over and it’s an entirely different story.

The vivo NEX Dual Display Edition has a 6.4″ 1080p Super AMOLED at the front  with a screen resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 and it is truly bezel-less. There is no notch, chin, cutouts for camera or earpiece. Just screen.

On the back is the second screen, a 5.5″ 16:9 Super AMOLED, still 1080p. It can be many things, including a viewfinder for selfies. Or it can act as a second viewfinder for your subject(s) to see and adjust their pose by their liking. And the 12MP main camera with dual-pixel AF promises some stunning shots, no matter the occasion.

This device can make a 3D model of your face and change some of your features with precision in real time making it a real beast for selfies and portraits.

Though the Vivo features a Dual Display, it lack a front camera. Truthfully the Vivo Nex may not need a front-facing camera on the phone, since it has a rear-display for selfies. There is a 12-megapixel Dual PD rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS, f/1.79 aperture, Sony IMX363 sensor, a secondary 2-megapixel night vision camera with 2.9μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture and a 3D TOF camera with f/1.3 aperture.

Vivo Nex Dual Display comes with a Mirror Mode which allows users to see themselves in the rear display while being photographed or filmed, while there is also a Pose Director feature can show a posed image or video in the rear display as a reference for imitation. Coupled with other camera modes such as AI Scene Recognition, AI Filters, and AI Portrait Framing, along with the diffusion lighting from the Selfie Softlight as part of the Lunar Ring, capturing the perfect shot is easier than ever.Image result for Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition,

While the Vivo Nex Dual Display supports dual-SIM connectivity, it runs Funtouch OS 4.5 based on Android 9.0 Pie.

There’s also Lunar Ring, one of the most versatile special features on the Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition. It is, of course, a light ring be used in different scenarios. For example, the Lunar Ring can emit a soft glow to help you get a perfect selfie, or it can change colors to alert you of different types of messages. The phone also supports 22.5W fast charging, which is a must for this 3,500 mAh battery if you are to use the NEX with both screens active.

Other features of the Vivo Nex Dual Display edition includes an in-display fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, AK-4377A amplifier, deep space sound Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) 2×2 MIMO, Dual 4G VoLTE, GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 5 LE, USB Type-C support and a 3500mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.
