TECNO Spark 2, Tecno second spark series device with upgrades over its predecessor Spark K7. Launched on the 8th of June at an event in Lagos, Nigeria, to be the latest addition to the Spark family.

TECNO SPARK 2 DESIGN

TECNO Spark 2 design has been rebranded featuring a sleek unibody with curved antenna lines. Tecno confirmed that the Spark 2 would be one of the world’s thinnest smartphone. The Spark 2 features a 6.0-inch full display which is .5 inches bigger than last year’s edition Spark K7 which sports 5.5 inches display, with tiny bezels and a resolution of 1440 x 720. It has a plastic covering with the fingerprint scanner mounted at the size, it measures 159.4×76.2×7.8mm in dimension.

The Spark 2 sports the trending full view display, which is one of the biggest and most noticeable changes in the device.  The full view, 18:9 aspect ratio display allows the screen to stretches all the way to the sides giving the phone a cleaner, more attractive and premium look. Thanks to the full view display, the device sports little or no bezel, because the 25% bezel is invisible, which is impressive for a budget device.

This impressive device feature a massive 6-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which is perfect for big screen lovers. It has a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 268 pixels per inch density.

TECNO SPARK 2 CAMERA

One of the major upgrades of the device is the 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, which will let more light in and enable you to take stunning photographs and saving memory for future like it’s in the present. There’s a LED flash underneath to help in low light environments, coupled with features like autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR are present as well. Situated at the front is the 8MP selfie camera which has f/2.0 aperture and also serves as Face ID unlock system for the device, giving it an additional security option.

TECNO SPARK 2 PROCESSOR

On the inside, the device is powered by the same processor we saw on Spark K, the MediaTek MT6580WP which is a Quad-core processor having a 32-bit CPU architecture. The Quad-core processor clocks at the normal speed of 1.3GHz and operates on the 28nm process technology. In the graphics department, the ARM Mali-400 MP2 clocks at 416MHz for a smooth ride.

Tecno Spark 2 comes in two different versions; 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM version and the one with 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM. They both have an external storage option that can carry up to 32GB via microSD card.

In terms of software, the device runs on Google Android Oreo Go edition, which makes the device the second Tecno phone to feature the latest android version GO. It also features a light version of TECNO’s latest HiOS V3.3 which should help with smooth experience.
