Tecno H6

Do you want to know more about the new Tecno H6? Then this post is for you.

Over the past one to two years, the Tecno and Infinix have been the only major players in Nigeria’s low-end Android device market.

However, with the emergence in Nigeria of budget smartphone brands like InnJoo, Gionee, and Jiayu, Tecno will start feeling the heat of fierce competition, especially since these new brands are releasing phones that cost cheaper than Tecno smartphones.

Well, trust Tecno. The company had already done its homework. And that’s evident in the recent release of the Tecno H3, which analysts have described as being “too cheap for its specs.”

And now, Tecno has just released another awesome, too-cheap-for-its price Android smartphone, the Tecno H6. Here, we’ll be looking at the features of this new device by Tecno.

Design

Measuring 129.7 X 64.5 X 9.8mm, the Tecno H6 looks really cool. With its slightly rounded edges, it looks more like its costlier predecessors, the R7 and the Phantom Z.

The 4.5-inch display takes up most of the front surface, with the rounded home button lying comfortably on the lower end. The speaker, light sensor, and front-facing camera all lie just below the top border, above the TECNO logo. (It seems those Tecno guys are no longer shy to flaunt their name on their devices.)

On the back lies the square-shaped camera lens at the upper left hand corner, with its flash lying just beneath it. At the lower end, there’s a slit for media sound output.

Overall, the design, in our own opinion, isn’t disappointing at all.

Display

The Tecno H6 swanks a 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854 (218 ppi). That’s just cool a size for those who want something between the extra large 5-inch display and the rather small 3.5-inch display.

Whether you’re a gaming addict or a cinema freak, the Tecno H6 will serve you well. Though you won’t get a display quality that is as badass as what obtains with an iPhone, you won’t be disappointed by what you’ll see on the Tecno H6.

Performance and memory

Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, the Tecno H6 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. And it packs 1GB of RAM with 8GB of internal memory (which you can expand with a micro SD card).

Now, you might think these credentials are below average. But because Android 4.4 is a lightweight OS that runs very fast even on 512MB RAM, you can expect amazing processing speeds from this device. Feel free to download your HD games and heavy apps—they’ll run smoothly.

Camera

As with its predecessors, the Tecno H6 sports a primary, rear-facing camera (8MP) and a secondary, front-facing camera (2MP). So, whether you want to take quick shots or videos, you’d enjoy yourself with the Tecno H6.

Battery

This is where the Tecno H6 really rocks. The phone is powered by a 2350mAh Li-Ion battery. If you ask us, we’d say that capacity is awesome for a 4.5-inch device. With heavy usage, the device should last up to 12 hours with that battery capacity.

Price

The Tecno H6 is now available  at the Kara.com.ng store, the tecno h6 price is currently  N17,000 and N19,000. That’s rather cheap, in our humble opinion considering that the Tecno M5—which is the closest Tecno device to the new H6 in terms of specs—sold for around N25,000 when it was released. Hurry up to pick up your phone as Tecno may discontinue this model anytime soon.

  1. I wish to know whether Tecno H6 is really a 4.5 inches phone as m5.
This is because the dimensions of Tecno H6 are a little bit lower than M5 which is also a 4.5 inches phone.
