MTN Nigeria’s CEO Michael Ikpoki along side the head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Goodluck Akinwale have tendered their resignations,” MTN informed on Thursday morning.
Their unexpected resignations came when the company is trying to pay a $5.2 billion fine imposed on the company by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) over MTN Nigeria’s failure to register customers.
The mobile phone operator said Ikpoki would be replaced by Ferdi Moolman as MTN Nigeria CEO and Amina Oyagbola as its head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs.
