windows-10Microsoft just roll out the much awaited Windows 10 OS to devices running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 globally as a free upgrade (Only for the first year). Users can simply register for the upgrade from their PC’s taskbar and Microsoft will send an alert once it’s ready to be installed.

Microsoft initially promised that everyone could take advantage of the free upgrade offer on July 29, but you may have to wait a while before Microsoft offers the upgrade to your PC. The main goal of Windows 10 is to unify the Windows operating system across multiple Microsoft product families—including PCs, tablets, smartphones, embedded systems, and Xbox One, as well as new products such as Surface Hub andHoloLens—allowing these products to share what Microsoft described as a “universal” application architecture and Windows Store ecosystem. Expanding upon the Windows Runtime platform introduced byWindows 8, this architecture allows applications to be adapted for use between these platforms while sharing common code.

Millions of people are already using Windows 10

The Windows Insider Program is a global community of fans who love Windows and want to help make it better. Insiders see the operating system in its earliest stages, and play a role in shaping it. Their feedback has contributed to the best Windows ever.

Familiar and better than ever

Windows 10 is familiar and easy to use, with lots of similarities to Windows 7 including the Start menu. It starts up and resumes fast, has more built-in security to help keep you safe, and is designed to work with software and hardware you already have.
