There was rumor that Apple would host a “special event” in October which has been confirmed to be accurate. Apple confirmed that at 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 30 the new cheaper version of the MacBook with a 13 inch screen along-side a new iPad Pro, higher-end AirPods and a smaller HomePod as well as refreshes of other aging Apple products will be launched.
After introducing the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and the Apple Watch 4 just a month ago, Apple has now invited the media to this special unveiling event tagline “there’s more in the making,” and its location is a bit of a surprise. It was reasonable to believe Apple would again present its new products in the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park after last month’s iPhone event.
The new iPad Pro is rumored to have slim bezels and Face ID, expanding Apple’s your-face-is-your-passcode technology beyond the iPhone for the first time. It’s also been reported that this year’s iPad Pro will switch over from Lightning to USB-C.
This year Apple is expected to shrink the bezels of the 12.9-inch version to create an overall smaller casing while replacing the 10.5-inch model with the full-screen 11-inch version. This is probably the right call as the larger version is admittedly big and heavy now factors that are less noticeable on the smaller version.
On the software side, Apple is likely to share release details for iOS 12.1 (which features Group FaceTime and dual-SIM support) and the upcoming watchOS update that will enable the Series 4’s EKG functionality even the iPhone X TrueDepth camera technology is rumored to be expected.
The Pencil stylus may get an update with the 2018 iPad range. Anonymous sources speaking to Bloomberg hinted a new version, complete with new software features and tools, is being prepared. Finer details about what to expect have not been leaked at this time.
Though the rumors are loudest about new iPad Pros more captivating product will be unveiled alongside, so all we have to do is to be excited and awaits the coming to limelight of this game changing products.
